The Kolmogorov-Smirnov two-sample test (named after two
Russian mathematicians who developed two closely related tests in the 1930's) can be used to test the hypothesis that two samples are from populations having the same frequency distribution. Cumulative frequency distributions are determined for each sample and the difference between the two are compared to a critical value. |
