Stream Simulation and Analysis
(Program No. 215-32)
for Windows (NT, 98, Me, Xp)
$ 69.95
This program simulates sampling both abiotic and biotic components of
a stream to help students compare (1) pool and riffle habitats, (2) upstream and downstream portion of a riffle, (3) upstream and downstream from an effluent, and (4) stream riffle before and after a rainfall event. The program includes files for 10 different streams in the USA, and instructors can modify and/or add additional streams for simulation. Ten abiotic features can be simulated along with 22 taxa. The analysis includes statistical comparisons, the calculation of p-values, and diversity indices. The opening screen is shown below. |
